Well, let me just go on the record...

Lesson Three: You are your best advocate.

This lesson is for other nannies, not moms. You have to remember that you are the only one looking out for your best interests. Parents are trying to get the best care for their children for the cheapest price. Now I don’t mean parents aren’t willing to shell out for their kids care, they are, but they are not thinking about how much YOU are worth but rather how much THEY believe the job is worth. Remember: You are the only one who can decide how much your time is worth. Stand your ground, and you stand the ground for all nannies. If you believe you are worth more than the parents are saying they will pay you, speak up. If they don’t want to pay that, then you don’t have to work for them.

The supply and demand of good, reliable nannies is your favor, my friend.
